Garden and Brenna

Our Garden :)

Brenna is so fun to watch.  She is just moving all over and her facial expressions just crack us up!

11 weeks

Ahhh, yes.  This is how we spent a majority of the week.  Crying and fussing.  She seemed to have a lot of changes this week, it felt like each morning she'd wake up and try to be completely different from the day before.  Whatever little routines we had going were completely out the window.  Thankfully she still slept well through the night but even her usual fussy time at night seemed to change.  She's keeping me on my toes!
So, here we are enjoying some tummy time.
And here we are enjoying a diaper change.

This week wasn't ALL bad...she did start to TRY to pull herself up.

And we had a busy week of socializing!  On Monday, Aunt Di came and we had a nice 5 minutes of not screaming.  Later that evening we celebrated Grandpa Jim's birthday.  She sat in her car seat up at the table with us and seemed to really enjoy looking around at people.

On Tuesday, we had a lunch date with a friend from High school down at Ambrosia Bella in Indiana.  It was a great lunch and Brenna was very well behaved as she was awake for the entire lunch date and didn't make one peep!  Then Adam and Jess came for dinner and they got to hold a very awake and alert baby.  And on Wednesday we meet up with Becky for a nice walk and met a new friend Rose who we'll be taking swim lessons with this summer!

Brenna has really started to take notice of everything around her, she has pretty good control over her head and loves to look at everything.  You can just watch her eyes moving around and taking everything in.  She's so curious!  She's also started to get her hand to her mouth intentionally.  She's such a cutie!!

10 weeks

Bella is so curious of who is taking up all my attention! Brenna could care less :)
I can't believe we are in the double digits!! Brenna is changing every day. Not only is she growing but she is becoming more and more aware of the world around her. When she's awake, she's really looking around, her hands are always grabbing at things. She's getting better at holding her head up when she's looking around. Her little face is so bright and full of curiosity. She not only smiles for those she recognizes but even as a greeting for strangers. She almost constantly blowing little bubbles and the drool is just starting. We've gotten into a pretty good routine and she sleeps pretty well through the night. She is still a little colicky from 8-10 pm every night, but thankfully I'm able to calm her and let her sleep on me, then I read a book! I think she likes my singing...I do a nice rendition of Oh Brenna (to the tune of Oh Donna by Richie Valens) and Hush little baby. I had to look up the lyrics to that one...but the end is kinda dumb so I just make up my own stuff.
Brenna had her Drs appt yesterday and weighed in at 11lbs 10ozs and 22 inches (50th percentile for both). She was a tiny 6lbs 10ozs when she was born. I can't believe she's gained 5 lbs!! I think half of it is in her face! haha.
I can't believe she's ours!! xoxo

DISHWASHER!!!

Here it is...in all it's glory...our dishwasher. It's a little guy, but I think it will really get the job done. Plus it's a great storage space for all those dirty dishes! A huge shout out to Adam and my uncle Jeff for getting it installed super fast for my sanity :)
Our house is really coming together. Kenny, my dad and my uncle Jeff came and removed the cut down tree in our front yard and moved all the mulch from the front yard to a pile in the back. That saved me from a LOT of manual labor :)
My beautiful garden is starting to take shape! My dad showed up early (for Brenna and I) Easter morning and we placed all the raised beds. Whew! What a work out. It looks great. The next day, Deb came over and we started placing the mulch. That's gonna be a multi day project! It's gonna look fabulous when it's done, though :)

This past week was a hard one. We had to say 'See ya later' to daddy....Nick left for his deployment Friday. We went to Detroit the night before and stayed in a hotel because Nick's flight left so early the next morning. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot tub in the room! We ordered room service and a big bottle of wine. Unfortunately Brenna wanted every last bit of her daddy's attention while she could get it and stayed up fussing until after 10. After that WE were exhausted and left half the bottle of wine and an untouched hot tub. On the up side, we've never heard Brenna 'talk' so much. She must have had a lot to tell her daddy before he left!
Brenna got to celebrate her first Easter! She sure looked cute and springy in her Easter dress. It's funny, she's so expressive, always trying out new faces...that is until I try to take a picture :)
She's starting to really stretch in the morning, like arms above her head and legs straight out...I can't seem to catch a picture of it yet, but it's so cute!! She's definitely starting to recognize people other than Nick and myself. She's giving out huge smiles when she sees her grandmas and grandpas. Every once in a while, if her smile is big enough, her tongue sticks out and she wrinkles her nose. I love it!! Nick claims he heard her laugh for the first time...and he may have been right, I thought I heard a little laugh last night.
She's also started to blow little bubbles and the drooling is about 2 days old....she is just starting to explore things with her mouth...Jessica Wright was her first taste test. She slimed her whole left arm, from shoulder to elbow! Apparently Jess tasted great! Brenna's also getting to know her hands a little bit and will slurp on them with about half her fist in her mouth.
She looks so enthused to be sitting with her Easter bunny.

8 weeks!!

Our little Brenna Bean is 8 weeks old! She is getting more and more active and loves to kick those chubby little legs :) She is so good in the morning, all smiles and has even started sticking her tongue out when she smiles. She's 'talking' more and more which is so fun to listen to. She swings and swats her little arms all around and has gotten a good grip on her burp rags from time to time.

She is getting so big! We have a Drs appointment coming up soon so we can get a good weight and height on her....I have a feeling our little chubby-wubs will be pretty high up on the weight chart!
We can't believe how much she has changed in the last month. She's slowly growing her hair in, it's still pretty light and fuzzy but it's definitely gonna be dark!
