owie, sprinkler and spaghetti

Brenna is starting to repeat things we tell her....and she is all about owies.  She knows Nick had one where a mole was removed and she fell and skinned her knees, so she has two.  Here she is pointing and saying "owie"

Brenna loves the water so much!  Her first time in the sprinkler was a BIG hit.  Squeals of delight with huge smiles... It was awesome.

We had a spaghetti night and decided that since she was in desperate need of a bath anyway, to just let her go for it......Luckily, she is a very clean eater.  Other than some very messy hands and a smeared face, there wasn't much to wash off.  She loved the spaghetti and mashed handfuls into her mouth.

11 weeks left.  My tummy feels so tight and LB is just kicking and punching all the time.  Probably trying to stretch stuff out.  Nick thinks he may come out a purple belt in ju jitsu.  I'm really happy that he feels so strong and healthy, but man is it uncomfortable.  I've had a lot of heartburn and it's getting really uncomfortable repositioning myself at night.  My back is cracking, my hips are popping....11 weeks left....

LB is the size of a butternut squash, about 2.5 lbs and 15 inches.  He feels huge, I feel huge.  ugh.  We are just about ready for a growth spurt....so he can triple in weight to be born.  TRIPLE in weight. You've got to be kidding me.  My clothes are tight, I'm huffing and puffing just walking from the car to the store.

On a happier note.... We got LB's crib assembled and some linens for it.  Only a few things left to buy...oh and lots of diapers ;)  hehe  I think I might even wash some baby clothes today....if I can get my butt off the couch!

28 weeks

And we start the 3rd trimester!!  Bring it on!!  I'm more tired, I'm slowing down, I can't eat much, it's getting hard to sleep.....and I've got about 2.5 months to go (optimistically).  My maternity shirts are becoming 'fitted' and my pants with the band to help hold them up now slide down under my belly.  I don't remember that happening until the last month with Brenna.

LB is a little ninja warrior in there....my arms are flopping like a fish at times from his kicks while I'm lying on the couch.  I can feel him pushing on my hips and he found a tickle spot that made me giggle the other day in the car.  I just hope he doesn't find that ligament that Brenna liked to pluck at that made my leg twinge.  This week he is the size of a Chinese cabbage, about 15 inches long and 2.25 lbs.  They say he's taking 20-30 min naps....I'm not so sure about that!  All his developments are geared toward getting ready for the world.  His organs should be functioning well now, he's just gaining some fat.

I'm still feeling pretty good.  Occasional heartburn, more than I ever had with Brenna but starting to crave chocolate.  I've eaten bags of it.  I feel like I've gained about 5 lbs this past week being in Coldwater with all the good food and parties with cake :)  Things are starting to get uncomfortable, I've felt out of breath on more than one occasion from just lying in bed.  LB is getting very close to my ribs and I've had at least one rib kick from him.  I'm so glad he's getting bigger but....I just want to breath!

LB weighs as much as a head of cauliflower, about 2 lbs and is 14.5 inches long.  He's really becoming forceful with his kicks and punches.  I feel like he weighs about 5 lbs....like I'm carrying a bowling ball in my belly.  It seems like he had a little growth spurt because my tummy feels so tight right now.  He can recognize our voices now and I'm sure with as much as we read to Brenna he's probably picked out his favorite book too :)

26 weeks

I'm still feeling great, and have been drinking lots of lime water and eating normal food.  I get full really fast, but don't seem to have many food aversions any more.  Still gaining weight at about a pound a week.  I've had a few breakouts on my neck, but nothing like it was with Brenna.  My 'pregnancy mask' is back in full force, much worse than it was with Brenna.  Ahhh well....hopefully it'll all fade away (in about a year)!

LB is the size of a English hothouse cucumber...about 14 inches long and 1.75 lbs.  I swear he weighs more.  He's beginning to open his little eyes and look around.  He is starting to move even more and with more strength.

We're getting ready to head to Michigan for a couple weeks for Brea's wedding and to visit family.  Hopefully Brenna will be well behaved on the flight.  At least I know I've got LB under control ;)
