25 weeks

Only 15 weeks left!!!  I've still been feeling well and am gaining about a pound a week.  My uterus is the size of a soccer ball...and I feel like it!  My tummy is getting tighter and my shirts are becoming more fitted.  Brenna loves Bellies right now and she likes to rest her head on mine :)  so cute.  She'll even give it a little kiss.  I keep telling her there's a baby in there, but I'm sure she has no idea what any of that means.

We had a OB appointment today, nothing exciting to report other than the heart rate was in the 150s.  We had a different Dr today and while I was initially excited that she was a female, I think I prefer the Dr I've seen the last few times.  I know I have no choice on the delivery day though....

LB is the size of a rutabaga this week, weighing 1.5 lbs and about 13.5 inches from head to foot.  He's still moving a lot and the kicks are getting stronger.  He twists and turns especially in the evening, at night and early in the morning.  He's just beginning to explore his environment and can reach out and touch the umbilical cord.  He can make a fist, touch his hands together, touch his feet together.  His nostrils are open and the brain is growing rapidly.

Springtime

Our little Bean has become a huge fan of hats.  She loves to have something on her head, hats, hoods, everything but bows.  She still loves her books and can read them over and over of course sometimes she just likes to flip through them as fast as she can, a little speed reading :)

Even though she still isn't talking (we are still given a vehement head shake 'no' when asked to say mom or dad), she is becoming more expressive with her hands and inflections.

We went garage sale shopping and scored a little kitchen for Brenna for $7!  She loves opening and closing the doors.  Once she's tall enough, she'll love the little sink to splash in.

We had grandma and grandpa Rogers here for the week and Brenna had a wonderful time.  Nick and his dad built us a shade for over the patio and some of the grass in the backyard to help protect us northerners from the brutal Texas sun.  It was amazing the difference just from sitting under it.

Brenna loves the water, so she got all dolled up  to play in her water table.  What a hit!

We make it out to see the flag lowering ceremony on post.  Brenna lost interest pretty quickly, but she looked so darn cute on her daddy's shoulders :)

At the park with grandma and grandpa.  Brenna was way too small to play on the equipment, but did get to go down the slide a few times.  She loved just being outside and able to explore.  I was hoping there would be a baby swing for her, unfortunately Brenna will have to wait for her first swing ride.  I'm so excited to see her little face with the wind blowing in it!

She is still as serious as ever for photos but such a happy little girl.  Even when she's popping out 6 teeth at a time!  Such a cutie!

24 weeks

I feel like LB has really grown this week, he's starting to feel heavy and sooooo low.  His kicks are getting dangerously close to my ribs and if my arm is resting on my belly, he can move it.  He seems to really favor my left side, where Brenna was always on my right.

LB weighs about 1.25 lbs and is the length of an ear of corn, about 12 inches.  His tiny face is almost finished developing, even his little eye lashes.  He is continuing to practice breathing and gains about 3-4 ozs a week, most of which goes toward beefing up.  Growing bones, muscles, organs and of course packing on the chub.

23 weeks

I've been feeling pretty well lately and have enjoyed some normal meals, which I don't remember ever really doing while pregnant with Brenna.  I feel like I'm carrying this baby a lot lower than I did with Brenna, I feel like he just lays in my lower right abd.  I still feel and see him moving around quite a bit.  My pelvis has been really achy and there are days I really struggle to get up from playing with Brenna on the floor.  I know it's only gonna get harder from here.....sigh.

LB is the size of a large mango, he weighs just over a pound and is around 11 inches long.  This week the lungs are really developing, and he is practicing his breathing techniques.  He looks like a super skinny, miniature baby now :)  His eyebrows are visible, he can suck and his inner ear is fully developed so he knows if he is right side up or upside down.  If (God forbid) he was born this week, he'd have a 20% chance of survival.

We have an ultrasound tomorrow, and I've been looking forward to it for weeks!  I can't wait for Nick to see our little baby :)

Easter

Happy (Belated) Easter!!!

Even though this is Brenna's second Easter, she was so little last year that really all I did was dress her up and sit her next to her bunny.  This year, she's really into putting things in a bucket and taking things out, so I figured it was gonna be a lot of fun for her to pick up the pretty colored eggs.  The weather was pretty nice and Brenna loves to be outside, we we 'hid' the eggs in the grass and around the backyard for her to find.  She found the first 4 and put them in her basket....then the interest started to wain.  With a little encouragement, she picked up all the eggs.   It was cute.

Her little play area....I attempted to dress up the bare walls with spring time decor from the dollar store.

All her loot :)  Brenna has officially inspected and taste tested each present she received.  She approved of everything.

Brenna practicing putting things in and taking things out......

Brenna trying to figure out how the bubble bottle worked.  Sure, bubbles are fun....but she was really interested in putting the cap back on the bottle.

22 weeks

I had another Drs appointment this past week and everything was looking good....it was pretty uneventful other than being able to hear the heartbeat, which was about 160 bpm.  I had to take Brenna with me and she was so well behaved until we tried to hear the heart rate, which is when she started crying and playing with noisy toys.   Just didn't like not having all the attention, I guess.

LB is 11 inches long, about as long as a spaghetti squash and weighs close to a pound.  He's beginning to develop his sense of touch and is starting to hear sounds from the outside, like voices and dog barks.  Brenna's favorite song is the eensy-weensy spider and so he is getting to hear that a lot.  Too bad he can't see the hand motions :) LB's brain is developing folds so he can store all the information he will learn.  He is such a mover!!  I don't remember Brenna moving this much or this often until much closer to the end.
