12 months

I can't believe what changes a year can bring!  What a fun time Nick and I have had watching the Bean sprout :)

Brenna is a little mover and shaker now.....she is walking and running everywhere. Except the grass.  She'll touch it but still refuses to walk in it.  She still loves to eat anything I give her.  Rarely do I have any left overs to throw out from her.  She's started on whole milk and had no problem transitioning from formula.  Brenna hasn't said any real words yet but she really babbles a lot so I'm sure it's coming soon.   She is endlessly fascinated by whatever Nick is doing.  She wants to 'help' and try everything.  She still loves her books but doesn't have the patience to sit through more than one anymore.  That seems to be a bit of a theme...lack of patience :)  I have a feeling we'll be seeing some monumental tantrums in or future (possibly near future).  She kicks and screams and cries.....all over not being able to fit 2 toys in her hand.  It's starting to spread to the changing table and when we try to clean her off after a meal.  Sigh.  She  understands the word no.  Apparently, it's a funny joke in baby babble.  Gets a good laugh everytime.  hehe.

She's really grown and even has a neck that gets regular air flow now :)  Brenna loves to be chased and will lean on you or sit on your leg or foot like it was meant for her.  She's just learning to give kisses (even though she's been kissing her reflection for months) and is very cuddly for short times, when she feels like it.  Such a funny little person and I can't wait to see other parts of her personality come out.

bath time

Oh how bath time has changed!  Brenna still loves bath time, but I take her diaper off in her room and she RUNS to the bathroom to look in the tub.  This time she stopped to check out the cute new rug (of course, I wasn't fast enough with my camera for that shot)  But I did get a couple cute ones.

She loves to just splash and splash....I have to change my clothes after every bath.  She just has so much fun :)

Once I got my camera out, she comes running for it....

the Alamo

Since the weather here in San Antonio has been amazing (sunny, mid 60's-70's) we have been trying to get out a little everyday.  This past weekend we went to the Alamo.  I have been here once a few years ago with Nick but I had forgotten how pretty the grounds are.  I've been trying to get Brenna accustomed to the grass and playing in it, so this open areas in the park were perfect.  Of course, all she wanted to do was sit and play with a leaf.

Nick was a real trooper and put Brenna in her baby carrier (which she is almost too big for) plus carried around a back pack with her diaper bag and a stroller attached!  I told him it was gonna look really funny when we went out as a family when I am a lot further a long with Brenna on his front and LB in mine ;)

We also spent some time at the Riverwalk, which was also so much nicer than I remembered.  It was great to get Brenna (and myself) out for a little exercise and fresh air.

12 & 13 weeks

So......here we go again!  This time around we have nick-named the baby LB, as in little baby.

Here I am at 12 weeks....still sick, but not as bad as I was :)  This week we grew finger and toe nails.  LB is just starting to move and can suck it's thumb and hiccup.   It's the size of a lime

At 13 weeks the bone is beginning to form from the cartilage and we made some ribs.  LB has their very own fingerprints now!   LB is just starting to kick although I can't feel it yet.  It's the size of a medium shrimp.

After weeks and weeks of all day morning sickness and exhaustion, I am starting to feel better.  I still get sick occasionally but it's not everyday (or multiple times a day).  In fact, I finally gained a pound, probably because of all the paczkis I ate this past week.  Thank goodness for fat Tuesday!

Presents

Brenna got some cute presents...she was excited about her little valentine's pig ;)

a quick hug before she went for the eyes....

Two cute skorts for next summer (or maybe this fall at the rate she's growing)

a helium balloon from mommy and daddy....

we also got her a baby pool.

Really wish we could have had a family party for her, but hopefully in the years to come there will be plenty.  And she'll actually remember those!

toothbrush

One of her presents was a toothbrush from Grandma Rogers.  Who knew what a hit this would be?!?!

A quick demonstration

quickly followed by an "I got this mom"

I think I like this....

Gotta get every nook and cranny in there...

Maybe she'll be a dentist??

BIRTHDAY!!!

The day started off with a bright smile from the birthday girl!

She got dressed in her birthday outfit and topped it off with a big birthday smile!

We had a skype birthday party!

The birthday girl even shared some of her cake with me :)

Initially all she wanted were the little pink frosting flowers.  It took her a while to get into it, but once she did....we had one messy baby on our hands!  Thank goodness we had a baby pool all set up to just hose off once the mess was done.

11 months

This month we've been getting ready for our big move.  I haven't had a whole lot of energy to pack much and pretty much put all my energy into playing with Brenna during the day.  She loves listening to toddler tunes on the TV and her favorite song seems to be the ABC's.  I'm not sure if it's the song or if she just hears that the most often but it always gets a little dance from her and a smile.

Brenna has been practicing her walking and is getting more confident in her explorations. Her hair is slowly growing and it seems like there is a little more to comb after her baths. Speaking of baths, she loves bath time and really gets into the splashing. She is still a great eater and is willing to try anything. She loves to steal a bite or two of our cheese sticks and bananas.

She's always on the go!!
