16 weeks

Baby Bath time!!!  Now that the weather is warmer, Brenna is definitely enjoying her baths more.  This is the picture where she discovered her toes just moments before.  She is really able to grab at things and even get what she wants about half the time.  And when she is mad, boy can she pinch my arms! 

She's talking more and more and really gets into making faces.  She's even had a few little baby laughs.  Cait was the first to make her laugh.  She was just talking to her and there it was, a little chuckle.  I finally got a little laugh out of her....by making her feet touch her cheeks!  So cute :) I can't wait for the first belly laugh!

I can only imagine how exhausting it would be to learn so many new things everyday. 

floors!

Holy-moly we had our floors done!!  Well, in the living room anyways....

 Ripping up carpet...what a pain in the butt!!  And the padding....disgusting!

 The really went to town that first day.  It was about a 12 hour day, but they really got the majority done.

What an improvement!!

14 weeks

Geez.  I'm already starting to loose track of how many weeks old Miss Brenna is.  I can't believe how close we are to 4 months!!  She is changing so quickly now, she always greets me with a smile in the morning and most mornings I wake up to the sound of her cooing on the monitor.  That's the best alarm clock noise I can imagine! 

A couple weeks ago, I set Brenna in her exersaucer and she just sat there.  This week, she meant business!  Her eyes fixed on a toy and she was determined to get it.  Her little arms were just batting at those toys.  It was so fun to watch such a huge change in such a short time! 

She is really studying things and occasionally gets something into her mouth.  Usually it's just her burp cloth and fist.  Her drooling hasn't picked up any, but her fussiness has.  Boy,we had a couple long nights.  Of course it was after I was bragging to everyone about how she sleeps through the night and is such a good baby.  She had me up ALL night long and smiled each time I walked into that room.

 

I still can't tell what color her eyes are going to be.  They are still a real dark grey-blue.  I'm not sure if this fussiness is related to teething, but she isn't really drooling any more than usual. 

Garden

Our first little bits of life (other than weeds) in our garden!  I'm so excited!!!

A walk in the park

We have a wonderful park in town that has a great paved pathway.  I've been trying to get there a few times during the week, when the weather is nice.  Brenna, Bella and I listen to some walking music and get some miles in on the 'coach'  I'm starting to wonder if the ride isn't too smooth.  Today, she was getting fussy so I actually walked with a wheel in the grass to get some bumps to put her to sleep...and it worked!  I'm sure I looked ridiculous, though :)

I've even gotten Bella involved in the walks.  I have a little portable doggy bowl for her water breaks....she loves it!

There are plenty of little trees around to throw a blanket out and get Brenna out of her seat for a bit.  It took longer to spread the blanket out, tie Bella up, get the toys out and try to set up the camera than it took for Brenna to get tired of it and start screaming.  Now, people may think that I'm exaggerating when I screaming and think I just mean fussy.  No.  I mean what I say.  Screaming.  ahhhhhhh...thankfully there was no one around for blocks :)

A few minutes before the screaming began.  It looks peaceful.  ha.

Mother's day

This year was my first Mother's day and Nick had gotten me a beautiful frame that has Brenna's and my name on it along with the year so I was determined to get a nice picture of Brenna and I.  I didn't realize it would take ALL day to get a few decent shots!  Little miss fussy pants really gave me a run for my money...we tried about 5 different times.....so here's one of the better ones!

Here's Brenna's new trick!

Brenna is starting to show signs of developing a 'strong' personality.  By 'strong' I mean very stubborn and when she wants something, she wants it NOW!  She expresses this loudly.  At the moment the thing she wants to do most is to sit up.  She can't hold herself up very well yet but as long as I keep a hand on her, she loves it! 

I know that the teething stage is coming very soon....I'm not gonna lie, I'm dreading it.  She's really been wanting to bite on my finger lately.  She's not interested in any of her chew toys (sounds like a dog) and even though I try to encourage her to suck on her own hands, she really only wants mine.  Where's Nick when I need him?  :)

Fun Fact: A baby's brain grows 5 centimeters during the first three or four months.

12 weeks (almost 3 months)

I'd heard that it doesn't get interesting until they hit 3 months.  It's true!  Brenna is like a little person now...always looking and starting to get interested in things around her.  She's really holding her head up and turning side to side to check out all the goings on around her!  She super smiley in the mornings and when she wakes up from her naps.  She's really talkative with her brow furrowed and nose flared.  She's getting more drooly and has figured out how to get her burp rag into her mouth.  She can't get anything else in there....but I'm sure that will come soon enough! 

She's such a pretty little girl!  I'm still not sure if she's gonna have blue eyes, I think there is a little brown in there...but we'll see!  What I do know is that her smile lights up her entire face! (and mine too!)
