38 weeks

They say 85% of babies are born within the period of 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after the due date. Since we are in that range, I suppose we are part of that 85% now. I'm still gaining about a pound a week but I can really feel it in BR, she just feels so heavy now!

BR is about the length of a leek this week...about 19 inches long!! She weighs about 6.8 lbs. She's still moving a lot and at the Drs appointment this week we had a lot of little (I couldn't feel them) contractions on the monitor. I have a fair amount of big ones that I do feel through out the day but still nothing regular. Also still not dilated at all.

37 weeks

We're in the home stretch!! The last month (I really hope the last week). This week has really slowed me down. I don't feel too bad but I feel like my body just isn't as responsive as it used to be. The Dr checked for any progress at the last appointment. Unfortunately there was none. ugh. BR is now the length of a stalk of swiss chard, about 19 inches and weighs about 6 and 1/3 lbs. I swear I can feel every pound of her. She is still moving a lot but you can tell it's getting tight in there. It feels tight. There isn't too much left for her to do to be ready to come out....just waiting...

nursery

We just got our glider tonight and put it together! This is our little nursery for when BR is born. We have our little crib and everything is set up...now we're just waiting!

36 weeks

Ahhhh, the end is in sight! 36 weeks and just had an ultrasound to check the baby's size. We got another confirmation that it is indeed a 'she.' Everything else looked good. I've been feeling pretty good and feel my belly has gotten considerably larger in the last couple weeks. Soon, I hope!

BR is 6lbs and will gain about 1 ounce a day until she's born. She's about the size of a crenshaw melon (no idea what that is but it weighs about 6 lbs) and she is just gonna get fatter and fatter until birth. The Dr said that I can go into labor anytime and it will be ok now. I've been drinking the tea that the Dollar girls gave me for Christmas in the hopes that it will make my contractions strong! I swear I had 4 while I was drinking it. I'm gonna drink it every night until she comes :)

35 weeks!!

I can't believe we're finally in the last month! We've been cleaning and organizing as best we can in our little place...I've just finished all the baby laundry and we're organizing all the great things we got from our baby shower! There is stuff EVERYWHERE! I've been feeling pretty well but sleep is becoming more and more difficult. I'm really looking forward to being able to turn in bed without grunting :)

BR weighs as much as a honeydew melon, just over 5lbs and from head to heel is about 18 inches long. Again, I'll know more exact measurements after our next appt this coiming week. I'll start the weekly DR's visits and they'll start checking to see if there is any 'progress' dilation, etc.

34 weeks

And here we are, back from Christmas vacation!! I thought for sure after all the holiday eating I would have packed on at least 5 lbs (I mean, that's what USUALLY happens, right?) but I've been holding pretty steady at 1 lb per week weight gain. BR must have really stocked up because she's feeling much heavier now. Plus I think she 'dropped.' The day before we left I felt the pressure move from my upper body to my lower body. When I'm pushing on my belly, I can feel the baby much lower in my pelvis now. I'm so excited that things are happening and that my body is preparing to deliver this little girl! BR weighs as much as a cantaloupe this week, real close to 5lbs. We'll find out in a few weeks a closer estimate to how much she weighs when we get an ultrasound done for measurements a week 36. I'm really curious to see how big she is now :) BR is about the length of a loaf of bread. Reminds me of the episode of the Cosby show where Cliff gives birth to a huge sub sandwich :) She's still moving quite a bit and is obviously not happy with how tight things are getting in my belly.

33 weeks

We are looking forward to coming home for Christmas to show everyone how much BR (and I) have grown! People will be able to feel her moving, as long as she cooperates. And I finally have my photographer back! :) This week BR weighs as much as a pineapple, just over 4 lbs and is about as long (12inches crown to rump) as an average pumpkin. I think their pumpkins are on the small side! She's moving all around and her pupils can now adjust to bright and dim light. Her lungs are still developing but we are getting closer and closer to the due date!
